Mixed NTS
In 2024 the Mixed National Touch Series builds on the format which was introduced 12 months ago.
- Consolidated four-division Series to provide pathway for teams through the England Touch pathway
- More competitive action between similar strength teams
- Relegation and promotion between Divisions 1 and 2, and between 3 and 4, between events
- Three single-day tournaments, with final rankings based on league points earned in the tournaments
- The 32 places in the Divisions 1 and 2 competition will initially be offered to the 26 teams who participated in the 2023 Division 1 and 2 National Touch Series and the 6 teams who finished highest in the Division 3 Development National Touch Series
- Divisions 3 and 4 are open to all clubs to enter on a first come, first served, basis
- With capacity of 32 teams at each day there is more opportunity for more teams to compete in the National Touch Series
- Every team has to bring a full-time referee qualified to at least Level 1 standard. Teams will have to specify the name of this referee when they sign up for the tournament. The full referee policy is in the FAQ document
- The elite player cap limits the amount of elite players selected for a team playing within Divisions 3 and 4 of the Mixed, and Mens and Womens Series. The cap is intended to avoid clubs loading their Division 3 and 4 teams with players who should be playing in Division 1 and 2. The elite player cap for 2024 is as follows: each player should only play for one team per weekend, playing on either the Saturday or the Sunday of each tournament weekend. Teams can apply for an exemption to the elite player cap - they should do so in an email at least 14 days before the tournament, before they submit their team sheets
