It’s game on in Nottingham this weekend!

The University Touch Championships heads back to Nottingham this weekend for an all-important Round 2 which will go a long way to deciding the outcome of the overall title.

Surrey Stags return to the Riverside Sports Complex having won their first national Cup title in Round 1, overcoming Loughborough 1 in a fiercely fought final three weeks ago. With Nottingham Trent University and Exeter 1 making up the semi-finalists, and six out of the seven knockout matches being decided by no more than two tries, the competitiveness of the Cup was clear in Round 1 and likely to present more of the same in Round 2.

Finishing places in Round 1 resulted in promotion for Exeter 2 (into the Cup), Oxford (into the Plate) and Nottingham (into the Bowl) after having won the Plate, Bowl and Shield last time out, with Cambridge, Bath 2 and Surrey 2 dropping into the Plate, Bowl and Shield respectively.

In all 31 teams have confirmed their place in Round 2, which will start at 10:00am on Saturday morning, with the Cup final tapping off at 4:25pm.
