Fixtures announced for first tournament of 2017

The England Touch Association’s 2017 tournament programme taps off this coming Saturday and the fixtures have been announced for the Men’s and Women’s Touch Cup to be held at East London RFC.

Nine teams will go straight into a knockout competitions, with seedings based on 2016 results.

London Scorpions and Oxford Touch (Men’s) and Nottingham Hoods and Oxford Touch (Women’s) will open the day at 10am, with the winners joining the other seven teams in the quarter finals and the losers joining a series of play-off games to decide the eventual standings.

The Men’s and Women’s Touch Cup is played out over three events during the course of the year, with Saturday’s action at East London RFC being followed by further competitions in June and September.

It is the only single-gender competition on the national calendar as the ETA looks to expand this area of the sport in England.
