Sport and Recreation Alliance Voluntary Code of Good Governance

Sport and Recreation Alliance Voluntary Code of Good Governance

In March 2015 the England Touch Association signed up to the Sport and Recreation Alliance Voluntary Code of Good Governance. The England Touch Board of Directors and Committee Members are committed to continuous improvement and aspire to excellent governance as a core part of our work.

Since its publication it has helped many sport and recreation bodies develop and implement effective forms of governance

The Voluntary Code of Good Governance is a tool to help Boards perform their role by outlining seven simple principles in the following areas:

1. Integrity: Acting as guardians of the sport, recreation, activity or area

2. Defining and evaluating the role of the board3. Delivery of vision, mission and purpose

4. Objectivity: Balanced, inclusive and skilled board

5. Standards, systems and controls6. Accountability and transparency7. Understanding and engaging with the sporting landscape
Created by the sector, for the sector the full code can be downloaded here.
