Date for your diary – England Touch AGM!

The 2018 England Touch Annual General Meeting has been confirmed for Sunday, February 25th. Timings are TBC but the AGM is likely to start around 11am.

The AGM, which will take place in Manchester, is the opportunity for current members – individuals, clubs and league operators – to hear from the England Touch management about the current state of the Association and the plans for the future. The AGM is also the opportunity for Voting Members (affiliated clubs and affiliated league operators) to elect various Board positions for the next two years.

Over the past few years England Touch has gone from strength-to-strength, with 65 affiliated clubs – a number which has doubled in just three years – and around 20,000 men, women and children playing the sport regularly.

The next 12 months promises to be exciting, too, with England hosting the 2018 European Touch Championships in Nottingham, an event which the Association is seeking to use as a springboard to boost the sport’s profile and participation, with planned expansions in both schools and universities as well as clubs.

A revamped club season structure is being introduced that will give players at the elite end ample opportunity to hone their games in a competitive environment ahead of the European Championships, and clubs a structure in which to expose their developing players to structured national tournaments each month.

England Touch’s new Articles of Association, voted in by members at the 2017 AGM, provide the opportunity for Voting Members to elect a number of Board posts. These are:

Chief Executive

Chair

Non-Executive Director

High Performance Director

Development Director

These roles are available for anyone to apply. Role descriptions and details of how to apply are available at www.englandtouch.org.uk/vacancies - interested individuals wishing to put themselves forward for consideration must have their applications submitted no later than 5pm on Friday, January 26th. A Panel will ensure all applicants meet the minimum requirements for the role before putting them forward for election at the AGM.

AGM papers will be circulated to Voting Members (affiliated clubs and affiliated league operators) four weeks ahead of the AGM.

In addition, we have a number of other vacancies across the organisation, which will be appointed by England Touch. This includes the exciting new position of Head of Volunteers as well roles in the High Performance Team, Commercial Team and the Referee Team. More information is available on our vacancies page.
